SPINAQUA Co-ordinators (Manolis Mandalakis and Thanos Dailianis) participated in the Workshop “Blue Economy in Crete”, which was organized by the Prefecture of Crete in Heraklion on 18 January 2019. The workshop aimed to: a) the presentation of European-National projects in the field of Blue Growth, b) the discussion of the results, challenges and perspectives in relation to European and regional strategies and c) the assessment of potential benefit-impact for the coastal-marine environment of Crete, in the framework of transnational/interregional collaborations, as well as of synergies between the Prefecture of Crete and research/academic institutions. Manolis Mandalakis gave a 10-min talk about SPINAQUA project and presented the potential benefits that may arise for the marine environment, as well as for the aquaculture enterprises of Greece.
